Ruby Rose Receives GLAAD Award

It’s no surprise that Soapbox artist and actress, Ruby Rose, received the Stephen F. Kolzak Award at the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards last week. Rose was given the prestigious award by surprise presenter and fellow superstar, Taylor Swift.

The Stephen F. Kolzak Award is given annually to an LGBT activist and media professional who fights openly for tolerance, acceptance, and equality. Rose took the stage, handed Swift her jacket to hold, and gave a humorously heartwarming speech. She referred back to her struggles as a young lesbian girl in Australia where it was hard to find inspiration in a place where she had no role model.
